We have an urgent need for a foster for this sweet dog! his adopters have family that needs their help out of the country. Combat can not go with them. We need to get a new home ASAP! We will continue to cover his medical! Is this the cutest thing! Check out his freedom walk! Meet combat, aka Charlie, #a2252988 from the east valley shelter. This adorable 13-year-old Maltese only weighs 7 pounds and was brought to the shelter as a stray on January 22, 2026. He was immediately orange alerted for having a bad heart murmur, no teeth, his tongue hanging out...and all the typical senior dog stuff. We've stepped into action and really wanted to get him out. But we were waiting to find a foster. Thankfully someone stepped up and yesterday we were able to get him out. He's already been to the vet and had blood work. He has one canine tooth that's rotten, and the vet says that if he's doing well with his medication that we can consider, pulling it out in about a month. We're so happy we can give him the best of the rest of his life. Combat's foster had a vacation planned and so we found a temporary foster. Combat fell in love with the family and they fell in love with him! he was adopted on April 15, 2026.

Celebrity is ready to light up your life and be your best friend! We rescued Celebrity, aka Jeff, #a2260529 from the east valley shelter on April, 3, 2026. This sweet 10 year old mini pin was brought to the shelter as a stray on March 9, 2026. He has typical senior dog issues like cloudy eyes and dental disease. But his biggest issue was that he had a perienal hernia. We knew no one else was going to take this dog. luckily, we found a foster and we were able to rescue him! He had his surgery to repair the hermia. He is fully recovered and ready for his forever home. here is what the foster had to say about sweet celebrity:
Celebrity is the sweetest little doh that is great with dogs and cats. He’ll take all the love he can get and would love a home where he could spend as much time with his person as possible. He really enjoys his food, treats, and going on walks but keeps them pretty short. He's low maintenance for the most part. He does however need some support with learning to fully pee and poop outside. As well as getting to sleep at night with someone patient who’ll understand he's a senior doggy who may at times wake up for potty breaks. He's truly a gem. Adopt Celebrity today! Reach out to meet your new best friend today! Goldenyearsdogsanctuary@yahoo.com 818.636.1522. Our application is on our website goldenyearsdogsanctuary.com. celebrity will be attending the critter fair adoption event on May 16 from 10-2 at Hart Park in newhall.

Circus needs a new home! We rescued this 11 year old lab/pit/boxer mix on August 9, 2025. He was in a great foster home. The foster even adopted him last December. However, when the adopter moved in with her significant other who had cats....things did not work out. Circus has a high prey drive and he was returned to us on May 20, 2026. We did have a great foster step up to foster him while we search for his forever home. Circus is a really great dog! Here is what his foster has to say about him: Circus is a distinguished old man with the comedic spirit of a puppy. He is housebroken and walks on the leash nicely. He knows sit, stay, shake, lie down, and loves playing with other dogs. He has prey drive with cats so cannot be homed with feline friends. He loves all people and gives excellent lean-in hugs and lie-down cuddles! Will wear any hat you put on his head—as long as it’s fashionable. He is silly, easy, needs at least one good walk a day and otherwise gets a few spurts to play with toys but mostly just lies around and snoozes. he is on a salmon diet, as he is allergic to chicken. In our home, he seemed to have seasonal allergies and Apoquel works well for him—he gobbles it up easily. Cytopoint shots also work but he prefers to avoid the vet if possible and has some fear aggression there. When he was left alone, we kept a cone on him so he could not lick or nibble open any itchy spots.

Chancellor needs a home ASAP!!! He is a great dog! We rescued him from the Castaic shelter last december. He has been in foster but the foster no longer want to help us out and foster. We have until April 1, 2026 to get him a home. here is his backstory. On December 27, 2025, we rescued Michael, #A5743192 from the castaic shelter. Michael is a 10-year-old neutered male pit mix that was brought to the shelters as a stray on December 8. He had a microchip. The shelter reached out to his owners and they didn't want him back! While waiting for someone to choose him, he developed an upper respiratory infection. It became critical in a get him out as soon as possible. The wonderful volunteers networked for a foster, knowing we could pull him. Luckily a wonderful couple stepped up and said they would take him So today we were able to get michael out. We're continuing the medication that he was on at the shelter and he will see our vet next week.He also has a bleeding growth on his leg which was removed in February, 2026. he is ready for his forever home now! he is a sweet, loving dog. When we first rescued him, he was so happy, he snuggled right into bed after dinner. we're so glad to give him the best of the rest of his life.

Meet captivating! This sweet, super people friendly 10-year-old chihuahua, dachshund terrier mix found herself at the shelter on January 5, 2026, when her owner was arrested. The owner had four dogs. When she got out of jail, she took the other three and said this one was ugly and didn't want her. And so poor fortune #a2250750 sat waiting for a home. her deadline was pending for euthanasia, and we couldn't let her die in the shelter. We did find a temporary foster and we pulled her on March 13. We named her captivating, because she is not ugly and we want everyone to know! However, we need to get her into a forever home as soon as possible, this dog is dog aggressive and must be the only dog in the home. There are other dogs at her current foster home. It is not ideal for her, the other dogs, or the foster. Please share and help us get her into a forever foster home as soon as possible. Our veterinarian said her eye is not a tumor and is not bothering her. She did have two tumors, however, on her back and leg which we did remove. Come join our team and foster today. There's no better experience than getting an old senior pet that's been dumped at the shelter out and into a forever home, we provide all the medical. You just give them a bed a home, some food and love him or her for the rest of their life

On December 5, 2025, a, a woman reached out to us asking if we could help a dog at the Carson Shelter. .Apparently on thanksgiving, November 27, 2025, , she found a dog in the middle of the street. She brought it to the carson shelter in hopes her owner would look for her. She also posted the dog on lost and found sites and pawboost. the shelter attempted to reach out to the microchip owner. But nobody came for her. The woman reached out to us, and asked if we could help. We replied that we could only help this dog if we had a foster. she agreed to foster this dog until we get her adopted! yesterday, this dog, who they didn't even name, became available for adoption. we rescued her on December 11, 2025! Is this not the cutest little dog!? This is mitzvah, #a2253462 now Chachki, ( and yes, it can be spelled without the t) (its Yiddish for little trinket) from the west valley shelter. This precious 15-year-old Chihuahua was owner surrendered on January 26, 2026. After having him for 14 years, they were moving out of the country and dumped him at the shelter. A volunteer reached out to us and asked if we could rescue this dog, we had a foster ready, so of course we saved him. He saw the veterinarian today and will go to his foster home tomorrow. Coattails is a sweet, healthy senior dog who needs a forever home NOW! Apparently, I don't know how to say no. I also can't seem to take good pictures of dogs today. But I do have great news, and that is that finnikiss, #a1339554 from the West Valley shelter is safe. We rescued him today 📷. The sweet dog found himself at the shelter in 2012 as a one year old dog, he was adopted out the next day, or perhaps claimed by his owners. he was in a family for fourteen years, and then they surrendered him. They said that he was fearful and anxious with people and other dogs. I should have taken more video at the vet's office today because he was friendly with everyone and the dogs. He went to his foster this afternoon. He's available for adoption. He is the sweetest 14-year-old terrier mix of some sort

What are we doing with puppies? These are the puppies of Confidence. She is the german shepherd dumped at our front gate in a crate on June 3, 2026. We did know she was pregnant. She had her puppies on June 17, 2026. Once these two boys are old enough, they will be neutered and available for adoption. We need a foster NOW who can take the puppies and their mom

Meet cigar, aka Earl, #A5778687 . He is a 14 year old chiweenie who was brought to the santa clarita valley shelter as a stray on May 24, 2026. The shelter is at capacity and euthanised six nice adoptable dogs this week. we couldn't let these this senior go to the chopping block. Our temporary foster reached out and said that she could take him if we would pull him. So of course, we arranged for him to get out of the shelter as soon as possible. We pulled him and Cameo on June 19, 2026. Cigar had his veterinarian visit and bloodwork on June 24, 2026. Turns out he and cameo both have pneumonia. They are both on antibiotics. Cigar is doing well and is eating and enjoying himself. He can't wait for his forever home! For more information, please reach out.
